What Does It Mean To ‘Find Yourself’?

Finding yourself means searching your true values, beliefs, goals, motivations, feelings, personality, emotions, spirituality, desire and purpose. Not what you have been told by others, but what you have discovered for yourself. Finding yourself means being more aware of the person who you are, and searching the reason of your existence.

Often we encounter with the quote of Greek Philosopher Socrates, “Know Thyself”

Not only one but many talks about ‘Finding Yourself’. Have a look

You’ve got to find yourself first. Everything else will follow. - Charles de Lint

Don’t worry about finding your soul mate. Find yourself. – Jason Evert

Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. - Lao Tzu

And it put us into the question, ‘Finding Myself?’

'But why?’

‘Am I lost somewhere?’

‘What it’s mean to find yourself or to know yourself?’

What does it mean to Find Yourself?

Finding yourself means searching your true values, beliefs, goals, motivations, feelings, personality, emotions, spirituality, desire and purpose. Not what you have been told by others, but what you have discovered for yourself.

Finding yourself means being more aware of the person who you are, and searching the reason of your existence.

Finding yourself means discovering your true self beyond your life roles and your social identity. You can be a friend, brother/sister, employee, boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife, father/mother, and son/daughter all at the same time, but these are just roles and titles of you. They don’t represent who you fundamentally are on the inside.

Finding yourself means to connect to inner self. Your inner self is who you really are on the inside.

Finding yourself means searching your true values, beliefs, goals, motivations, feelings, personality, emotions, spirituality, desire and purpose. Not what you have been told by others, but what you have discovered for yourself. Finding yourself means being more aware of the person who you are, and searching the reason of your existence.

Read the all kinds of ‘discovering yourself books' to heal your trauma and free your heart.

We let parents, bosses, partners and other external relationships dictate who we are and how we should act. We let others define who we are by creating false beliefs in our psyche that plague us for years.

And, in this way, you lost yourself.

But, this this the time to find yourself.

Ask yourself who you are from inside. It requires a high level of introspection and self-awareness. If you have clarity of at least half of what is your purpose, values, vision, goals, motivations, and beliefs, you probably have quite a high level of knowledge of yourself. At the same time, the process of self-discovery never ends — it’s a life-long journey.
