Well, in this article I will talk, how experiencing negative emotions are good to your well being and how can you use negative emotions for your wellness.
Generally, people (not me) classify emotions in two categories; negative and positive.
Positive Emotions
Emotions bring positivity, pleasure, happiness are positive emotions like love and happiness
Negative Emotions
while if it brings displeasure, a sad or a miserable kind of feel then we name it a negative emotion such as anger, disgust, sadness.
Why to control negative emotions?
Now the thing is that whenever we encounter an emotion that feels negative to us, we try to control it. Sure that positive emotions are good for your mental health but forget not that “There is nothing wrong or right when it comes to feelings”. It is just about balance that we experience negative emotions. Remember, the main reason we have emotions is to help us experience our true self. So, to understand the positivity of a negative emotion, first you need to drop the idea of its being negative.

Negative emotions are most likely to aid in our survival. Bad feelings can be vital clues that a health issue, relationship or other important matter needs attention. Apart from that if a person always feels positive emotions, his or her outlook can become so rosy that he or she ignores dangers or become complacent. Someone who only experiences positive emotions runs the risk of becoming complacent and ignoring the issues that really matter.
So, Instead of pushing away a negative emotion, learn to accept that. Acknowledge how you are feeling without rushing to change your emotional state. This is the best strategy to overcome your emotion as it gives you more clarity about the problem that created that emotion.
