Life is very short and even in such a short time, we keep thinking about what to do and what not. What not to do, is a later thing, but it is important to know what are the things that you must do in life. This article is about the 10 things that everyone must know and do in life and should remain committed towards them.

Before you read on I would like to let you know that I’m excited to announce that we have a new release now. Read all kinds of discovering yourself books to heal your trauma and free your heart.

10 rules of life everyone should follow

1. Know yourself

Since childhood, we have always been trying to know or learn something that is unknown to us. And today, everyone can claim that they know a lot about the people surrounding them, be it family members, neighbours or a friend (doesn't matter how long the relationship is).

Apart from people already with them, they also claim to know those who are far and out of reach. Yes, they know their favourite celebrities through their social accounts or interviews.

And it is saddened that people who claim to know everything has zero knowledge of themselves. Knowing your own self is the most important as it will clarify your thoughts on what you really like, what you really want to do and what you actually need to do.

As Aristotle said “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” and through that wisdom, you will know that after knowing yourself you do not need to know anything else.

2. Take care of your body

We all want to live longer. And it's known that a healthy life means a longer life. But taking care of our body is the last thing in our mind. Taking good care of our body doesn't only give pride in ourselves but also improves our energy level and thus the quality of our lives. And remember your body is the best friend of yours. If you take care of it, it will support you till your last breath.

3. Reading Books

This is my favourite. I love reading books, fantasy, fictions, epics, history etc topics are a treasure for me. I love books because it makes me fly, it can take me anywhere I want to go. Imagination is one of the most important skill everyone should possess and books help to enhance that skill when it comes to creating and thinking.

Reading books has much more importance in our lives than we can imagine. It not only improves languages, communication skills, memory but also makes you smarter as readers display greater knowledge of how things work as well as information on people, places, and things.

4. Be Yourself

Perfection is overrated in our society. Everyone wants to be perfect in terms of physique, career, finance and all. Sometimes in the name of perfectionism, they copy their favourite actors, cricketers, their neighbours whoever they like.

They will read success stories of some great people and tryna follow their routine. Though it can help and inspire to share their own voice. It's really hurtful to see people living a life of lies.

Everyone must know that your own personality can only be built if you stop copying others. To make your own personality you need to be yourself.

Remember Originality lives longer and copy fades faster.

5. Know your friends

Once a Wiseman said that you are an average of all your friends. Your character defines by your friend circle.

Show me who your friends are and I will tell you what you are - Vladimir Lenin

And this is the simple truth of life that you become like those you are closely associated with as some friends can inspire you to be your higher self while others can decrease the quality of your life. So, you must have a clear understanding of who your friends are and thus choose them wisely.

You must know that only a dream team can make you accomplish your dreams.

6. Have a Dream

To have a dream means to have an aim to accomplish in life. Without having an aim, you can lose interest in life. A dream makes you work hard to achieve your life purpose and make you feel ecstatic once accomplish. Life has a lot to offer which can not be enjoyed if you have no dreams.

No, I am not talking about the career or finance goals. Though you can have those dreams if money were not there what dream you would love to have?

Just think clearly and have a dream, small or big, and follow your heart to achieve it in order to enjoy all the luxury of life.

7. Never Compare

Take a leaf of any of the tree and try to find the similar leaf, with same fibre length, same quality, same prints. I promise that you will never find the same leaf in this entire universe. This is because God hasn't made two things similar. She has made everything unique.

Everyone has their own journey, dreams and struggle, and thinking and comparing your life to others can drive you to to be miserable, it can make your life a race and life is not a race but a process to discover your own true self, to enjoy your own uniqueness.

Comparisons a thief of joy. Don't compare your behind the scenes life to someone else's highlight reel- Steve Furtick

8. Know that only you are responsible for yourself

People generally are habitual of blaming situations or people for misery in their lives. Sure, the circumstances can be an unfavourable sometimes but your response to that defines your life.

Putting the blame on the situation or people serves no purpose but only adds to the frustration of letting your life be ruled by other people or situations.

So stop blaming and complaining and take responsibility for your thoughts, feelings, words and actions and live the life that pleases you.

9. Be a Rule Breaker

Our society has set some rules to follow in life. For example, in a career, there are some written rules that you must spend some years to gain education and then you can achieve this or that. And hence people don't like it when they see someone breaking the rules as it considered negative quality.

But to be wildly successful you must learn to break the rules. Rule-breaking needs courage, persistence and risk-taking capability as Nina Bhatti says "Opportunities don't come gift-wrapped, you must take risks.".

Come out of the comfort zone and break the rules that are inconvenient to follow and are obstacles in your path followed by your heart.

10. Surrender

Resisting something or someone is exhausting. Fighting makes us tired. When we stop resisting, we find rest. We all trust God. But our trust varies with situations. In some situations we trust him but in others we don't if his power changes somehow. But surrender makes us trust him more and more.

As Krishna said in Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta

After attaining Me, the great souls do not incur rebirth in this miserable transitory world, because they have attained the highest perfection.

— Chapter 8, Verse 15

On the last note, I would like to say that following your heart with pure intention is the right path. You don't need to know right or wrong but follow your heart.
