Sometimes during prayers, it feels like there is no one listening on another side. It feels like God doesn’t care what we have been through and how much we need this. Though we know God can do anything, no life can survive without His blessings yet we feel like this.
Sometimes it’s hard to understand why our prayers going unanswered, especially when we, are in much need of something. Like you are in pain-need survival, want to save a marriage, want to have a baby, desperately needs a job. Why do all these needed remains unfulfilled?
Today, scrolling through some feed I got this poem by Claudia Minden Weisz and something blew my mind (though this poem didn’t give the exact answer for why God says No, yet I got some clarity) and I want all of you to read this once. I asked God to take away my pride, And God said, “No.” He said it was not for him to take away, but for me to give up. I asked God to make my handicapped child whole, And God said, “No.” He said her spirit is whole and her body is only temporary. I asked God to grant me patience, And God said, “No.” He said patience is a by-product of tribulation. It isn’t granted, it is earned. I asked God to give me happiness, And God said, “No.” He said He gives blessings. Happiness is up to me. I asked God to spare me pain, And God said, “No.” He said suffering draws us apart from worldly cares and brings us closer to Him. I asked God to make my spirit grow, And God said, “No.” He said I must grow on my own. But He will prune me to make me fruitful. II asked God for all things That I might enjoy life. God said, “No. I will give you life, So that you may enjoy all things.” I asked God to help me love others as much as He loves me. And God said, “Ah, finally, you have the idea.” Read What to do when God says no to your prayers.
We have been hearing since childhood that God is like a father and so He wants to protect us from things that might not be good for us. True indeed. But I disagree with the part that He wants to protect us from any danger. He doesn’t. I will tell you why but before that let's say what have been we listening about Him saying No to our prayers; God said NO to protect us from harm we can’t foresee. God said NO because there was something greater in store for us. (Hearing that “there’s a purpose,” or that “it’s probably for the best” or that “everything that happens, happens for a good reason”) God said NO because He wants to test our faith in Him. God said NO because it would reveal our divinity. God said NO because He is preparing us for a massive breakthrough. God said NO to cultivate perseverance, patience, and persistence in us. Okay.
Read what God has to say on Suffering. But what if we want this only? We don’t want to fulfil any purpose, we want to feed our family right away. I don’t agree with God says No. He allows us to have anything we want. He is not in any control. Do you think God cannot change any course of action at any time? Then why would He say No when He is abundant and provide us with the abundance in a tiny amount of time.
In the previous blog, I discussed when God tells what is a pure measure of love, He said that He chooses your will for you. And this is the surest measure of love. He wants for you what you want. Read that blog here.
Let’s see What God has to say, “You did not come here to strive and to struggle and to never “get there.” Nor did I send you on a mission impossible to complete. Believe in the goodness of God, and believe in the goodness of God’s creation—your Selves. I allow everyone to have what they want. Tell me where you seek to go and I will tell you how to get there. Ask and you will get. Nothing is difficult for me but you might be making things difficult for yourself. Therefore, be of one mind and if single purpose about a thing. And take your mind off of it until you have produced it in reality. Keep focused and stay connected.”
Ask and you will get. This is what God saying to us. He is just asking us to have complete faith in Him to receive His offerings. He never says No. He can’t. He is bound to say Yes if you believe in Him.
