How To Overcome Anxiety?

What is anxiety?

There are lots of things that scare us. Being scared of some things – like fires – can keep you safe. Fearing failure can make you try to do well so that you won’t fail, but it can also stop you doing well if the feeling is too strong.

When fear is about something that going to happen in future and is nagging and persistent then it becomes anxiety and leads to stress. to overcome Anxiety is quite different from those of short and long term methods to avoid anxiety.

When fear is about something that going to happen in future and is nagging and persistent in nature, this becomes anxiety. We use this word often for the general feeling of worry, nervousness or unease. It’s a feeling that grown in response to an upcoming event that has an uncertain outcome.


Common mental and physical symptoms of anxiety:


• Feelings of danger, panic, or dread

• Nervousness or restlessness

• Rapid heart rate

• Sweating

• Trembling or chills

• Tiredness or weakness

• Gastrointestinal problems

• Difficulty focusing

• Hyperventilation


Every person deals with it at one time or another, because it’s part of our brain’s response to a perceived danger — even if that danger isn’t real.



Why do you fear when it isn’t a real danger?


Our ancestors used to find themselves in the situation if physical danger very often and so they needed a fast and powerful response that causes fear.

Though, we no longer face same threats in modern day, our minds and bodies still work in the same way as our early ancestors, and we have the same reactions to our current worries about bills, travel and social situations. But we can’t run away from or physically attack these situations!


The feeling of fear can be scary in itself especially when you don’t know why you are experiencing them or if they seem out of proportion to the situation. Instead of alerting you to a danger and preparing you to respond to it, your fear or anxiety can kick in for any perceived threat, which could be imaginary or minor.


General triggers that can cause you feeling anxious:


· A stressful job or work environment

· Driving or traveling

· Genetics — anxiety could run in your family

· Withdrawal from drugs or certain medications

· Side effects of certain medications

· Trauma

· Phobias, such as agoraphobia and claustrophobia

· Some chronic illnesses like heart disease, diabetes, or asthma

· Having another mental illness such as depression



How to come out of the Anxiety?


When I was dealing with the one I researched thoroughly about anxiety. I searched all over the internet, all related videos, attended seminars to cope up with it. I read overcome anxiety right now tricks, short term tricks and not what. So, if you want it to overcome for a short period of time (like you need it to go for once, right now) then there are many methods.

Some short term tricks to overcome anxiety


  • Take deep breaths.

  • Count to 10 or 20 slowly.

  • Talk to someone.

  • Change your focus.

  • Take a walk.

  • Go out.

  • Eat.

  • Sleep.

  • A good laugh goes a long way.


These methods help. These methods really helpful when you need a positive emotions fast. Don’t you want to let it go forever? There are some long term methods are too.


Here are some long term methods to overcome anxiety:


  • Eat well-balanced meals. Do not skip any meals.

  • Get enough sleep. When stressed, your body needs additional sleep and rest.

  • Exercise daily to help you feel good and maintain your health.

  • Do your best. Instead of aiming for perfection, which isn’t possible, be proud of however close you get.

  • Connect with others. Spend time with friends or family. Organized activities are great, but just hanging out works too.

  • Maintain a positive attitude. Make an effort to replace negative thoughts with positive ones.

  • Volunteer or find another way to be active in your community, which creates a support network.

  • Limit alcohol. Alcohol can make you feel even more afraid or anxious.

  • Talk to a physician or therapist for professional help.

Identify what sort of anxiety you’re dealing with


For overcoming anything you must know what is it that you want to overcome. So to overcome anxiety you must know what kind of anxiety you are having, a social Anxiety, a general fear for something that going to happen in future or some specific fear (work, home, phobias).


Know what is bothering you


Once you know what is it actually that is bothering you, that is making you worry, you will be able to know if it us real or just perceived and how big or small the danger is.


Take a step back from the problem and relax


Stepping back from the problem helps clear your head. Relaxing doesn’t mean watching TV but daily practice of a relaxation like deep breathing, tai chi, or yoga — that has a physical effect on the mind. For example, deep breathing helps to relax a major nerve that runs from the diaphragm to the brain, sending a message to the entire body to let go and loosen up.

Know yourself. Learn your triggers


Learn what triggers your anxiety. Is it work, family, school, or something else you can identify? Keep an anxiety diary or thought record to note down when it happens and what happens. And look for a pattern. You could carry with you a list of things that help at times when you are likely to be become frightened or anxious. This can be an effective way of addressing the underlying beliefs that are behind your anxiety.


Trust the process


Having trust and connection with something that is bigger than you can provide a way of coping with everyday stress, and attending religious places and other faith groups can connect you with a valuable support network. This keeps your mind off the worry and help you to appreciate the everyday blessings.


Allow yourself to dream, wish, and imagine the best that could happen.
